Happy New Year to YOU, All

Here’s an Ode to a year we would all collectively like to forget, here’s to a year that’s collectively unforgettable.

This was a year of big losses and small wins, a year of unforgiving nightmares and formidable mornings.

A year that turned the privileged into cyborgs and the underprivileged into unprivileged, a long spin around the sun that made time into a living, breathing thing which was not always friendly.

A year that was an active influence in all our lives, in ways big and small.

Also, a year that proved the age-old adage solitude gives birth to art.

Here’s to the banker turned chef, the lawyer turned writer, the doctor turned painter, the realtor who is about to open her bakery, and also the artist who finally applied for a degree in management.

A prayer for the grieving, a hope for the next few steps into a new year of uncertain boding.

And here’s to all of us who made tentative new beginnings in this year.

Here’s to fine aging of beginnings.
