Maps of My Soul

I sit beside the fire and think
Of all that I have seen,
Of meadow-flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been;

Of yellow leaves and gossamer
In autumns that there were,
With morning mist and silver sun
And wind upon my hair.

I sit beside the fire and think
Of how the world will be,
When winter comes without a spring
That I shall ever see.

For still there are so many things
That I have never seen:
In every wood in every spring
There is a different green.

I sit beside the fire and think
Of people long ago,
And people who will see a world
That I shall never know.

Wonders of The Universe

Rainbow’s paint a picture,
On a showery summers day.
The wind is just a whisper,
To blow your cares away.

Rain are heavens tear drops,
Which makes, all things grow.
Our Moon is an orchestra,
That makes the ocean’s, ebb and flow.

The Sun, God’s great creation,
To give everything it’s life.
The Stars are heaven’s angels,
Twinkling in the night.

The Aurora Borealis,
The northern lights for all to see.
Are the greatest show on Earth,
God puts on for free.

The Wonders of the Universe,
All creatures great and small,
Were made by God above,
To Amaze us, one and all.

Here and Now

We men of Earth have here the stuff
Of Paradise — We have enough!
We need no other stones to build
The stairs into the Unfulfilled —
No other ivory for the doors —
No other marble for the floors —
No other cedar for the beam
And dome of man’s immortal dream.

Here on the paths of everyday —
Here on the common human way
Is all the stuff the gods would take
To build a Heaven, to mold and make
New Edens.
Ours the stuff sublime
To build Eternity in time!

Footnote: ‘Eudaimonia’ or the blessedness for me is rather a cluster wonderland, series of pure and simpler joys found tucked away in everyday’s pockets. I am jolly good at finding paradise wherever I go, wherever I am. Therefore, I see contentedness in the journeys I have undertook following the inner GPS of my soul, witnessing tiniest wonders of the Universe along the path and pausing at every road bend to soak in the bounties of the Here and Now. I believe, Bliss is well within the reach of every hand.

I find sheer happiness in the promises kept, meaningful conversations with no time bomb on it over a goblet of Zinfandel, forest walkabouts, nurturing my inner child by being the goofball that I am (Buffoonery is fun, you should try it sometime hehe), driving solo uphill on weekends to witness changing hues of the setting Sun(I am a biggie on road trips), a good swim in the open waters, inviting people over and treating them with my baked goodies(I love to cook for friends, family and strangers alike).

However, when the day comes to a close, my deep innate longing leaps outward. A longing for silence, comfortable silence, the absence of chaos, to just BE. I have reached a certain point in my life where mindless small talk no longer appeals to me. Having ‘been there and done that’, I have gained a sense of maturity and I cherish that private space more. The space of no pretense, no judgments, not having to explain anything, staying in the company of those who actually ‘get you’ with no words necessarily spoken. I am blessed to have come across such luminous souls in both my personal circle and here at Medium.

Silence is pure and holy. It draws people together because only those who are comfortable with each other can sit without speaking.
-Nicholas Sparks

Hola and Gracias to my beloved friends here who have imprinted upon my life in more ways than one, with whom I have had the most meaningful interactions with and where I have felt the most at home with. The ones who speak less yet connect more, my profound soul tribe, I love you the most:
Ana, Rhonda Skinner, Wolfie Bain, Pam Golden
The divine in me acknowledges and honors the divine within you.
