A Poem

Watercolour on paper by the writer

Like any other day
dawn’s translucence mirrors
in morn’s untouched matrix
unnerved by enormity of Sun
brushing mist off citrus pith,
teasing a lazy dream stuck in
red glow of spent ashen wick,
pink stars pop from ice plant
tinged silver in moony reverie,
Like any other day
birds peck in contentment
at grains strewn on my roof,
bees spark the velvet blooms,
streety pups ripple and yip
to be wrapped in warmest
sunlight knitted or unreeled,
a tawny kitten swizzled by
kitchen’s effervescent spree,
Like any other day
Burner’s blink, cutlery’s clink,
blessings of being I imbibe,
slunk in resinous intimacy
honey-healed bonds glisten,
chaotic emotions dance merrily
in contentment to the marrow
across elemental connectivity
setting symphonious love free,
Like any other day
I sync with galloping of time
hourglass turned upside down
transcending abstraction of life
pulsating in fibonacci fractal
celebrating nature’s logarithm
imbued with color of purpose
aiming dot by dot to symmetry,
self-gratified in absolute glee.
