Murmurs
Mondo Poem | Unusual Poetry Forms
How many colours
are painted by nature’s brush
and who decides the palette?
I know them by heart
they speak to me in murmurs
of the rise and fall of love
This is in response to the poetry prompt by Somsubhra Banerjee:
I have tried the new poetry form MONDO:-
Mondo poems are often very brief collaborative affairs that present a question and answer in the style of trying to glean meaning from nature. Mondos can be as short as a one-liner or as long as two 5–7–7 syllable stanzas (the first stanza presenting the question; the second the answer).
This is my first Mondo poem and the above line artwork is inspired by the vibrant photo of Lantana flowers / পুটুস/ पंचफूली बूटी captured and posted by Somsubhra on Instagram. Here is the photo:
Thank you Literary Impulse, Somsubhra Banerjee and Priyanka Srivastava for this inspiring series.
