Red silkie hen
is home again
back in her pen
this time she’ll stay.

She’s looking out
her sister’s about
It’s time no doubt
have to obey.

Some are enthralled
other’s appalled
the human called
what did she say?

Cluck, cluck it’s time
sleep’s not a crime
up here and climb
please don’t delay.

Don’t need to chase
hens as they pace
look at her face
not time to play.

All had enough
huff and they puff
squawk and then fluff
end of the day.

Look at good red
she could have fled
from her perch bed
same everyday.

No disorder
pecking order
all adored her
she gets her way.
