Now that the rules are clear, please find below some words from the Illustrator herself.

FROM THE ARTIST, Lubna Yusuf :-

For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.

-Khalil Gibran

The artwork is inspired by the enchanting city of Chefchaouen, that was built in the 15th century (early 1400s), but it wasn’t until the 1900s that it was painted blue. During that time Morocco saw a large influx of Jews as the Second World War started. For the Jews, the colour blue represents the sky, which reminded people of heaven and God.

For me, the city is symbolic of calm and serenity amidst chaos and we need this in our lives now, especially when the world is witnessing another war. I hope we heal from this soon.

Thank you Literary Impulse and the amazing editors for this beautiful thread on artworks. Hope our readers enjoy this. I am looking forward to the responses and creative flow from this prompt.

If you’d like to read all the exceptional entries we received from Part-1 to Part-3 of our challenge, you shall find them, here.

Tagging a few of our regular contributors and well-wishers. This is not to spam your notifications. But just to let you know so that if you are interested, you can chip in with your fantastic wordplay. Please let us know in case you do not want to be tagged in the future and we’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!
