Society is not our enermy. And yet, it seeks to envelop us in its relentless embrace.

Even if we don’t know it, we are trapped. Sometime we feel it — the chains of externalities holding us from around — asking us to relent our freedom, our peace, calm, sense of being. And sometimes we enjoy it, the idea of being trapped, so we don’t have to think for ourselves.

It is not good to always think. And yet it is important for us to transcend the system of external control, to break free from the suffocating chains that bind our spirits. We should be able to choose our chains. That is freedom — something that breaks us free of the cycle of suffocation and relief.

First thing first. We must learn the art of acceptance.

Like a resilient oak tree weathering the tempest, we must learn to embrace whatever comes our way. In this acceptance lies a profound power — the power to be less disturbed by misfortune. Via acceptance, we can shield ourselves from the barbs of manipulation.
