Unsent Letters

The fear of failure

My bedroom walls are covered
with letters unsent to you.

I speak of love unwavering,
of love profound and true.

I sadly lack the courage
that self respect conveys

a courage to act boldly,
disdaining all delays.

My letters may seem strange to you,
my dreams of love absurd,

unless you glimpse inside my heart,
and revel in my words.

My bedroom walls are covered
with letters of love and truth.

Shall I ever rip them down
and forward them to you?
