There are things I have resisted in vain — and they keep coming back, urging me to try, once again

“…what I mean is, that I am under the influence of some tremendous attraction which I have resisted in vain, and which over masters me.” — Charles Dickens

There are always some limitations we put on ourselves, a line we never cross, a path we tell ourselves we will never take. Life however, has a way of making you come across each of those things and an opportunity to dive in to see what we were resisting all this while and making us question if we are going to let these opportunities pass. So, do we let this opportunity pass? Whatever it means to you. Or do we tread in, slowly, unsure but curious? I don’t know the answer. No one does, unless we start walking into it, fearless.

Taking a chance means you are in a vulnerable position, it is scary, fear is just courage being shy — just know this.

“To love at all is to be vulnerable,

love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken.

If you want to make sure of keeping it intact,

you must give it to no one

not even an animal..Lock it

up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness.

But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change.

It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable,

impenerable, irredeemable.” — C.S. Lewis

Every decision is a risk, a choice into the unknown and yet we are scared of taking that chance, on ourselves, on the situation and rely on the bad side of what ifs.

What if it doesn’t work out but what if, it does?

What if you believed it will work out? Or is it your hesitation in your own ability to make things happen that is the clutch you lean onto for each decision you make?

You won’t know the answer to it, unless you take the leap and just do it.

Resistance feels familiar, comforting, safe — but is it what we want to be? Safe?

Live a life without knowing what we could know, seeing what we could see, being who we could be?

We need to stay open to growth, possibility, and the chance to find something greater than our fears.

Perhaps then, it’s not about overcoming resistance completely, but about embracing the journey, however uncertain, knowing that only in walking the path will we discover what truly lies ahead.
