In our neck of the woods, the trees have mostly lost their leaves. I appreciate that the woods goes out in a blaze of glory, but the barren limbs and gray skies leaving me feeling a little down, thinking of Ishmael in Moby Dick, who grows grim about the mouth and feels the “damp, drizzly November” in his soul.
