Introducing…LitPop!
Once upon a time an English department started a fun little literary and cultural studies blog. The grad students in charge of it had a sense of humor and named said blog “Get Lit,” imagining that their readers and contributors might find a pun-ny, risky title kind of cool. So Get Lit was born.
Then one day an innocent associate professor of English went to buy some stickers and t-shirts advertising the blog, in the interest of spreading the word across the campus community. That’s when the big bad Marketing Department learned about the blog. Concerned about potential offensiveness and use of unauthorized fonts and colors not part of the official university palate, the Marketing Department cast its magic wand and reduced Get Lit to a pile of smoking rubble.
From the ashes was born a new, bureaucratically-authorized but still uncowed blog, LitPop!
