Remember that product development is a marathon

Started adding content about the user-entered prompts to the dashboard today, but didn’t get very far. I was still working on a plane with no wifi, so it was tough to look up the information I needed. I downloaded Dash and got is set up at the airport, but I couldn’t find an example of what I’m trying to do in the standard Rails documentation. Got some basic things set up, but it didn’t feel like I made much progress.

Unfortunately, every day is not as productive as the next. Building products is painful and you have to realize that it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Even if you call things sprints when you plan your work.

You have to be tenacious. You will find a way through. Take a break and work on something else for a while, or try a different way of accomplishing what you need to do. Just don’t give up. Come back tomorrow and the day after that. You can’t do everything today, even when it feels like you’re really close. The little things will add up into a bigger thing eventually.
