Something Called Dream
Do you have dreams? Sure it might sounds unrealistic to talk about dreams, but I do think it’s quite an important part of our life, especially after you grew up, you are not covering in the books trying to memorize all the hard knowledges that only appear in the test, dreams are something you have the time to focus on, and something will enrich your life.
For pursuing dreams, you need strategies, otherwise you will make it with much more time, the following are some tips for you to think about.
Theres no shortcut, deal with it.
Sometimes when you are looking at the master in the internet, and the question comes in mind, what in the world could they make all of this, and you wonder how could you be like them one day, and maybe starting to have doubt to yourself. Actually, there’s no shortcut for dream, every master was once in your position, in really young age with limited experience, but they believe in theirselves and work really hard, and become who they are today gradually.
What you spending time on, where you becoming a master.
If there’s anything fair in this world, it must be time. Everyone has it, and has it 24 hours a day, only thing is different will be how you manage to use the time. If you spend it wisely, it will return the good result back to you. Years after years, I have deeper experience on this, many good designer or successful person in different categories, they all really smart at time management, which helping them to deal with multiple tasks in life, and still nails everyone of them.
Life’s a marathon, enjoy the view on the road.
Life’s a marathon, let’s suppose a man can live to 100 years old, and you can tell that you only lived how percentage of your life? Therefore, a small success or failure will not make a huge difference on your path of life, and so you have to learn how to deal with the failure, and start over after the success. The result is the sign for guiding, but only the view on the road is what makes the journey so special.
That is a really great path, but might be not your path.
You have to have the knowledge of yourself, what’s your strength, weakness and desire. You have to find something that you will be waken up for even think of it, and that will be something you can do and willing to do forever. Here’s the question, how to find it? The trend is keep changing, you have always surrounded by choices, but all you need to do is to try.
The fact is, if you find out that it’s not what you want, you will still be rewarded with two things, first, you know something is not what you want, second, you add an anchor point in your life, which is opening lots of possibilities.
Steve Jobs once said:”You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backward.” When you are looking back in the future, every experience helps to shape the one and only you, and so don’t follow everyone’s path, because each of us is a unique individual, we have different strength, weakness and desire, and so find your own unique path.
Make a clear annual KPI and finish it piece by piece.
Sometimes the dreams are seems to be far from where you standing, but if you deconstructed the dream and you will see it’s not that hard actually.
For example, if you like to take photos, and you want to hold a photography exhibition, but you worry about the space and the viewers, there’s doubt come up, you decide to put it aside, and it will never happed in the end. Let’s break down this dream, what it costs to hold an exhibition? You need the space and the viewer, and for the space you need to book a room and design the key visual poster, for the viewer you need to make some promotion.
To keep deconstructing your dream, you will find the possible units that can be done piece by piece, when you have all the plans in mind, you will see it’s not that hard to archive your dreams.
It’s not about how much you want to do it, it’s about how you do it.
The things is many people had the desire to make dreams happen, but only few of them really succeeded. The difference in between is that, some of them had the ability to think deeper, and to make a reliable plan. You won’t go further with blind eye, You really need to know what elements are essential to the make it go in your way. The most terrible thing will be, you have full of passion but got the direction wrong, spending much time with no result. Before you start, there’s two important things to be sure: the direction is current, and a reliable plan that could be done.
The fact, it’s all about knowing what you really want, having the self-cognition is crucial, knowing what you are good at, and what making you passionate about. Don’t say yes to wrong rules, don’t take easy on the details, don’t follow others’ paths, find your own one and make it wonderful, and always remembered, you only live once, make it counts!
