Even when you don’t want their help

If you think of the typical narcissist as hateful, vengeful, and hell-bent on destroying other people’s lives, you might be right. But not all narcissists stare into the mirror all day — some spend their time trying to fix other people. Heroes in their own minds, these self-proclaimed prophets of help and healing will offer solutions for whatever ails you — whether you want or not.

If they don’t listen when you say, “I’m not interested,” if they don’t stop talking when you say, “I’m late for my meeting,” and if they lack empathy when you’re discouraged, you might be dealing with a narcissistic helper.

Narcissistic helpers often come disguised as an angel. You probably won’t realize what they’re up to until it’s too late. This is especially true when you end up marrying one.

Many people get confused when their once-loving ex turns ugly. Some say it’s like someone threw a switch. Victims of narcissistic abuse will often repeat the same questions over and over. What happened? When did they change? Was it something I did? No, the narcissistic helper was most likely a seething, toxic mess even before you met them — they just disguised their selfishness with love-bombing and flattery so they could use you for narcissistic feed.
