WHAT I THOUGHT OF THIS BOOK

Believable- Hilarious- Heartfelt- Amazing. 4 words to describe this book. This book in a summary.

This book was amazing. Lots of my reviews say that, but this one was that. I love this book so much and the characters were so funny. The main character, Ethel, wasn’t a “rebel” (as she mentioned) while being a fun to learn about and fun to read about character.

Elliot was an annoying character, while also being kind, sweet and funny. Both of them seemed completely different and a completely unexpected friendship.

I’m not actually sure what made me like the book but there are a couple of options:

  1. How funny it was- the funny situations and meetings, the hilarious characters. This book had a number of funny parts: Weird plans and funny endings to the plans.

2. How believable it is: You might think it would be tough to believe an obvious fiction book- the name says it all. But if any book can convince you that people can become invisible, it’s this one.

3. Like the quote on the back of the book says:

“An astonishing and funny novel about a girl who- by disappearing- will write herself into your heart forever…”

You definitely get to know Ethel and it feels like you’ve known her forever, and I could understand her completely by the end of the book.

There are others, these are a few, but in a nutshell: I really liked this book! The only thing I would change is to shorten it a little, as it was a little lengthy.

I recommend it for a nice long read on a Sunday or for a comic relief book after school and for an overall book-enjoyment experience.

WHAT THIS BOOK WAS ABOUT

This book is written by Ross Welford (Check out other book reviews of this author)

Ethel Leatherhead was quiet that she was almost invisible. In a way, it’s actually ironic.

When she takes a dose of mysterious acne medicine mixed with a dodgy tanning sunbed, she turns invisible. It seems simple, but it's not. She didn’t know who she was. And now she’s invisible.

“How can you know who you are if can’t even see yourself?”

With the help of loud-mouthed, annoying and bumptious Elliot- the kid at school who everyone hates- she has to find a way to turn herself back visible. And it’s not going to be easy.

I rate this book 9 ❤s out of 10 ❤s!
