Being generous makes you feel good. There’s something so satisfying about putting a smile on someone else’s face and studies have shown that people who give are both happier and healthier than those who don’t. Philanthropy is an aspiration for many but has become difficult to achieve in today’s difficult to navigate and generally uncomfortable charity world. Charitable giving has been on a downward trend over the last ten years even with the rise of information accessibility and social media making it so easy to see the divide of wealth across different parts of the world. Enriching the lives of others makes us all wealthier, so why is it that we are giving less than ever before?

I’ll be the first to admit my dissatisfaction in the way many charities conduct their business. It’s pushy and most of the time the tactic is to make you feel guilty enough that you donate, even if you don’t want to. Nobody enjoys being cold called during dinner and being asked to give credit card details over the phone. Most people would have experienced being stopped in the street or a shopping centre to have an uncomfortable conversation as someone tries to guilt them into giving to a cause that doesn’t appeal to them.

And then there’s the issue of trust. Where does your money go when you do decide on a cause that you are passionate about? The truth is you can’t really tell. There isn’t a lot of transparency when it comes to where your money ends up and with some funds spending up to 83% of donations on administration costs and chasing more donations it doesn’t make giving very attractive any more. So what’s the solution to the very obvious shortfalls in the current system? Little Phil.

Little Phil are the blockchain start up that are quickly gaining the spotlight on the charity scene and are bringing transparency back to the market. Want to know who receives your donation? With little Phil you will not only see who your donation is going to but know exactly when they receive it. So if you want to assist with a child’s healthcare in Zambia? Think Little Phil. Want to pay for fresh water in drought-stricken regions of the world? Think Little Phil. At Little Phil they understand that people don’t just want to give blindly but want to see the impact of their donations. With Little Phil you can choose any cause that appeals to you, choose how much you want to give and see exactly where the donation ends up. It’s that easy. And with a very small flat rate fee of only 6% on a donation transaction it’s very easy to see that your hard-earned money is truly making a difference to someone’s life.

So if you want to give and feel good about it again, head on over to littlephil.org and start having those Little Phil good moments.
