5 Reasons Why I Should Care About IOS 8

For most of us, the IOS 8 means absolutely nothing. The visual differences are minimal but it’s not the visual differences that make this update epic.

1. The ability to send a location without copying and pasting.

Telling someone where you are simply by tapping detail in your text message is one amazing feature of this IOS 8. Helpful for an extremely drunk night of “I don’t know where I am, mar mar!”. Be careful as there is no option to edit, once it’s sent that’s it.

2. Seamlessly answer phone calls from your macbook.

Integration of Ipad and Macbooks was my number one reason this update was crucial. My macbook now automatically updates all text messages in real time and I can answer phone calls, even when my phone is in another room.

3. Predictive text is user friendly

Apple had this annoying thing where you find yourself tapping keys endlessly. Now with the predictive text for your messages you have the option to not only have it assist you but you also have the option to cut it off inside of the message.

4. Privacy on a 3 way call

Sometimes you don’t want the third party to hear what you have to say. You can now have private conversations on a multi user call by hitting the private button.

5. Group Chat Options

Previously, if you wanted to add someone in a group chat, you would have to create a whole new group chat and lose all your jokes. Now you can add people to your chat, leave if you like and also mute the chat so it does not disrupt you if you’re in a meeting. There’s also a collection of pictures in the details button for the entire chat. No more scrolling up!
