Goldilocks Travel Tripod for Hybrid Shooting
Has my long search for the best solution finally ended?
In concept, all tripods follow the same basic premise. That being that it is easier to balance something with three legs, given the irregularities of the real world, than it is to balance on four legs. It doesn’t matter what genre you need to shoot, tri pod (three feet) is the sweet spot.
What we generally refer to as a tripod typically combines three components: the legs, the column and the head. The column provides some height adjustment that is independent of the leg height. The tripod head sits between the camera and the top of the column. As well as providing an attachment point for the camera, it provides articulation to change the lens direction.
It all sounds so simple. However, if you have ever visited a tripod manufacturer’s stand at a Photography Show, you will know that there seems an almost infinite number of ways of remixing these basic ingredients.
