The world really sucks right now. Climate change will screw up the planet for generations (if not forever), the oceans may soon contain more plastic than fish, species after species is exterminated, a virus is overrunning humanity, we’re locked up under self-quarantine, politicians are criminally incompetent, and the economy is doing a nosedive towards what? Widespread famine?

That’s not what I had been promised. We were supposed to have jet packs, have it at least as good as our selfish parents and grandparents, and — dammit! — have a future. Instead, we’re staring down the abyss.

Maybe that virus is just mother nature’s immune system trying to get rid of us. It’s not as if we wouldn’t deserve it. Maybe we should cheer it on…

<Sigh>

Anyway, the world won’t become a better place if we all just lie in a pool of tears. We need to find a way to tackle our problems. A civilization of depressed souls will just drive us off the cliff. So let me discuss some techniques I’ve found useful to feel more at ease while the world around me is crumbling.

Let’s get started.
