What to do with those ticked off feelings

It’s happened to all of us. You see someone else’s success. They get a great job offer.

Or

Their writing is getting published and read at ten times the rate that yours is.

Or

They found their soul mate after just 3 dates from online dating and now they are engaged.

You want to be happy for them. You try to be happy for them. But instead of happiness, you feel hurt and angry inside. The bitter tightness you feel is hard to name.

I’ll name it:

ENVY

I get it. Every day articles are selected by publications that have rejected mine and what the heck is up with that?

Am I envious of other’s success?

Hell yes, I am!

Does this help me become a more successful writer?

Hell no, it doesn’t.

What is Envy?
