Good things come to those who DON’T wait

--

“Remembering that I will be dead soon is the most important tool I have encountered to help me make big choices in life” — Steve Jobs

In the long run, we’re all fertilizer.

What matters right now is the short run…how you live before you become food for daisies.

YOU DON’T HAVE A LOT OF TIME

Throughout your entire life, you’ve been told to…

Sit still. Stand in line. Keep your head down. Follow the rules. Do as you’re told. Play it safe. Don’t risk it. Wait for your turn. Ask permission. Stop asking questions. Slow down…and Good things come to those who wait.

I’ve got a newsflash for you…this is terrible advice because it opens the door to procrastination, excuse-making and all kinds of limiting beliefs and restrictive behavior which only succeed in sabotaging your chances of living the life of your dreams.

TOMORROW IS NOT YOUR FRIEND

You have no choice but to accept the reality that you’re playing a high stakes game of one and done.

You have exactly one life in which to do everything you’ll ever do.

There are no do-overs, you will not receive a second chance…either use this life well or lose it.

That’s why it’s in your best interest to wake up to the truth that good things come to those who DON’T wait.

Why should you be drinking this kool-aid?

Because those who understand that life is short…don’t wait around for their dreams to come true.

They don’t wait for things to happen…they take matters into their own hands and make them happen.

When they have questions, they seek answers. If they need something done, they take the initiative to ensure it gets done.

GOYA VS. SOYA

Far too many have embraced the principle of SOYA (Sitting On Your Ass) instead of GOYA (Getting Off Your Ass).

That explains why most people have little to show on the highlight reel and go to their graves with their music still inside them.

Following your “yellow brick road” and turning your goals and ambitions into reality requires eagerness, moxie, persistence, commitment, hard work, and good old-fashioned hustle.

IMPATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

Impatience is the fuel that accelerates your goals and crazy dreams.

Impatience, when deployed properly, is a tool that helps to elevate, accelerate, and multiply your ability to be successful in all areas of your life.

In the end, the hungriest person always wins…and I assure you, the hungriest person is quite impatient and well aware that time is running out.

I long ago came to the understanding that any goal, task, intention or idea takes as much time as you allow it to take, and if you work smart by executing with speed and precision…it won’t take much time for you to enjoy the victory.

Ultimately, it’s a choice between two options…

YOU can spend the remainder of your life being patient and waiting for good things to come your way…or you can accept the belief that impatience is a virtue and start acting with a greater sense of urgency.

Doesn’t it make so much sense to stop being patient…to start rewriting the rules of engagement…and to live the most amazing life possible?
