How to accomplish whatever you want in life

3 months ago, I’ve asked my self what I could do to achieve my goals so I started to read a lot of articles about self-improvement. On Medium it is one of the most chosen topics so many writers are sharing ideas and knowledge about it. I decided to make my compilation of what I consider to be the most relevant. I created this list according to my personal experience and here it is wrapped in these few lines. They are general tips that you can apply in any domain of your professional or personal life. Do not hesitate to give them a try and let me know how it worked in the comments.

1. Have a clear vision of what you wish to achieve

I discovered this principle a few years ago in “The 7 habits of highly effective people” by Stephen R. Covey. With a clear and precise idea of what you want to have or where you want to be, it will be easier to choose the path to reach it. Be as specific as possible and measure it in terms of time, money or added value.

2. Establish a plan to reach your ends

Once you have decided your destination all you need to do is create a plan. It will serve as a road map for you to follow and each step should be clearly stated. Take your time and do not rush because it should be as detailed as possible like the vision you created earlier. Do not hesitate to adjust it according to the changes occurring in your life and your present situation.

3. Schedule every single step of your plan

With the map in mind, your next task is to establish a timeframe for its execution. It can be hours, days, months or years but it should suit your project. This calendar will give you an idea of how long it is going to take to complete your purposes.

4. Set a deadline for each step

Having a deadline gives you the motivation to work towards your aims. Without it, you will never have enough discipline to invest energy in your activities. Remember when you had to finish a memoir back in college or when your boss asks you to write a report on a specific date? You feel the pressure and it is scary to not deliver so you do whatever it takes to get it done. The same principle applies here but this time it will serve you and not someone else.

5. Have Faith

It might sound simple but yes Faith is an important part of success. You will never get anything done if you don’t trust yourself. Not every aspect of your journey is under your control and Faith will keep you on track during difficult moments.

6. Be consistent and write your intentions daily

This is the last notion that I have learned by taking a moment to look at my bank account every day. It is of utmost importance to read/rewrite your goals daily. Life happens and it presents opportunities that can help or hinder your victory. Adjustments are often needed overtime to not lose focus and re-evaluate your priorities.
