How To Turn Passion Into Profit.
Consistency + passion = success.
Are you constantly thinking about your passion project?
We create the picture of our future life like how our business looks, how our relationship will be, and where we reach after 10 years.
Most people don’t live their life on their own terms. Somehow, they don’t know what to do in their life or in which things they’re passionate about. They just live their life just as it is.
If you've got a passion for something and have an entrepreneurial mind, but you don’t know how to create a business within. I’m discussing this topic.
I’m assuming that you somehow know about what is your passion, right? It might be abstract ideas, but you can identify.
So, What Is The Problem With Your Passion?
“If you don’t love what you do, you won’t do it with much conviction or passion.” — Mia Hamm
Most people have conceptual ideas about what they want. And they think in an impractical way. They don’t know clearly how the whole business looks like. They want to do it, but somehow they aren’t clear enough.
Suppose, you've got a passion for cricket, but you know how hard to turn it into business, right? Suppose you love drawing, but you don’t know how to scale it up.
See, passion and business are different. Suppose you've got the skills and talent. But the problem is, you don’t know how to do it.
So, I’m covering simple and clear and basic steps.
Find The Need In The Market.
Your first step is to see a clear need based on your passion. Suppose you love cooking. So, think about needs in the market.
- Do you find a gap in any of the areas of passion?
- Do you think people are craving for a different type of food?
- Do you think your skills help a specific type of people?
- Do you think you can create a process to meet specific category?
See, I’m talking about two types of thinking. Are you thinking like a frog’s style? Or are you thinking like a shark?
Frogs believe that the world is just in Well because they haven’t seen the world beyond. When shark asked about the size of the world. Frogs described that world is on Well. Nothing more.
When Shark showed them the ocean, then frogs understood the real world.
So, your size of thinking depends on the formula you create.
Most people have a one and another passion, but very few can see like shark’s eye. Few people actually create a profitable business.
First, just gather abstract ideas. Can you see specific problems related to your passion? Don’t worry about competition and other things because your mind suggests obstacles. But for now, just overlook them.
Find The Ways To Reach That Need.
Now, you’re clear that you can develop business in this way. Now think about your passion. What can you do better?
See, here is the biggest problem you face. Life is complex. You can’t find the exact same need. You’ve so many Ideas.
People have different behavior styles. Something they like and something they reject. So, don’t find the exact needs. It’s okay if you’re 80% aligned.
Suppose my passion is writing, coaching, and blogging. but some people are interested in reading free articles, and they don’t want to talk directly to me. Some people need my help. But, you can’t find an exact need that what you create will likely to go viral. It’s a really complex process.
What I want to know is the basic need of the market. In my example, most people want to read my stuff about self-improvement, life lessons, and self-help articles. But some people require coaching services for relationship problems or emotional management. And I might not have an exact passion for helping those type of people.
Next, you’ve to decide the way to reach there.
Suppose you want to be a blogger. So, you just don’t need to know about blogging, but you need other skills like writing, copywriting, marketing, course creation, selling, business mindset, and so on.
But most people think that blogging is easy. They just think about having a great website, traffic and lots of conversation, 1 million dollars launch. This is bullshit. They don’t think beyond this.
Be realistic about your strategy. It’s simple.
I know about blogging so I can explain to you about this. But you can think about your field.
And the second thing is to make everything simple. Suppose, if you want to start a YouTube channel about cooking, just start it. Means, don’t be perfect about every angle of the video. Just shoot it with your smartphone and upload it. Just give it a shot. Don’t overwhelm your mind with banner, logo, and branding. You learn everything with time, but for starting, just focus on the few necessary things.
Don’t worry about the other 80% of things. Just use your resources in the best way.
“If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins.” — Benjamin Franklin
Everyone started with zero, and they reached after years of efforts. See, having a successful business takes lots of time.
Clear About Your Intentions.
Having a passion and strategy is not enough. For any business, you must know about the “why.” Ask yourself, why are you starting a new business? Why you need these puzzles in life?
You know that having a new business involves lots of difficulties and obstacles. So, if you decided it then definitely, you've got a deeper clarity.
You want to help people? Or want to make money? Or chasing fame? What?
Don’t worry about absolute clarity, it originates with time, but if you’re really chasing it, your heart supports you to take action.
That’s why I’m the biggest fan of passion. Because if you work for 18 hours, still you don’t feel exhausted.
Sometimes, you don’t like the whole process. Suppose you love writing, but you hate proofreading. So, be clear about that. The business takes a diverse range of skills. You’ve to learn it whether you like it or not. Suppose you don’t know how to code a website, but if you lack money, you've got to learn about this even if you hate.
Consistency + Passion = Success.
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” — Steve Jobs
If you aren’t thrilled about work or business, you’ll likely to quit. You do it for survival purpose, but you hate it. You miss something in your life.
So, you know your passion, but interests and ideas won’t create a profitable business. You need to be consistent. Means you’ve to do it in the real world.
It’s up to you but with consistent action, you develop specific skills. Your passion might be your interest, but consistency gives it the power of mastery. You learn seriously. You just don’t want for hobby purpose, but you take it for a deeper meaning.
Success doesn’t come just by imagine the ideal life. Imagination leads to confusion and analysis to paralysis.
A better option is to accept the real world. It involves risk, time, and everything. You reach the point where you feel exhausted. You don’t want to work, and you just quit. You feel lost. Everything is not going well, but still, your passion, your love for work, and consistent action lead to miracles.
Sometimes, it may not be rational, but it works.
“Just don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there’s love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.” — Ella Jane Fitzgerald
Let’s Chase It.
Honestly, very few people love their work. They chase money, fame, status, and position. They don’t think beyond this, and they don’t just feel their life.
Very few people respect their guts. They allow themselves to make a dent in the universe.
If you just discovered your passion, still it’s great. Most people do 9 to 5 jobs, and they don’t fight for their purpose. But if you’re reading this, means you’re passionate about changing and fighting for life.
Take your step. No matter how you do but create a business around what you love. I know it’s hard. You've got a one and another problem but hustle.
And if you’re passionate enough, you don’t need my words. You know how to make it. Suppose you’re afraid, but in the end, you’ll reach that point.
“Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.” — Oprah Winfrey
You find success in your area of passion. Why? Because it has the power to maintain self-trust, patience, and consistency at the same time.
Let’s allow yourself to chase your business of love.
