Even though much of life is familiar, it still is unpredictable. It rarely goes according to plan, and you cannot hide from this truth. Failure lives in unpredictability just as well as success. When Failure does find you, which usually is more often, it is important to remind yourself that your life is not over. In fact, it must go on.

Such is life — it demands you whether you can bear it or not

A single moment may feel cruel or forgiving, but it is nothing more than what it is. And it will never be enough to define you alone because it exists only to help you gain or lose momentum on your path. The pace of your momentum is influenced heavily by your perspective of the moments you face.

If you wish to use your moments to gain momentum, find Peace with what you can’t control

This, in practice, is quite difficult because you know life would be much more convenient if you could control everything outside your power. But this Law of Nature is unchangeable and must be accepted if you wish to live well. You may not know this but, you are all that is within your power, and you forget yourself each time you try to control everything outside yourself.

To better control everything inside your power, learn to communicate with yourself

Learn your Language — you have one that is tailored for you. Your life experiences may have shaped it, but it translates everything that you experience into something you understand. Knowing your Language helps you communicate and work with yourself to face your obstacles with a greater understanding and determination.

This skill reminds you, in the midst of Chaos, that you are not alone, and still are very much capable

Learning to communicate with yourself is no easy effort, but it is a fruitful one. So, do well to remember that,

Communicating With Yourself Is Normal

In fact, I think it’s quite vital that you do. To expect others alone to understand you well enough to say what you need to hear is not a very reliable way to live. But to expect this of yourself makes you alone responsible for controlling everything inside your power.

But this does not happen without Practice

Like all great things, this will take time and commitment to develop. You will make mistakes and may say a bunch of things that you regret, but this is the process of learning how to communicate with yourself. And as this skill grows, you will learn how to work with yourself to keep moving forward.

The most courageous act is to think for yourself. Aloud.”- Coco Chanel

Your Feelings Will Help You Understand Your Language

It is natural for your thoughts to turn to Chaos quicker than it does to Peace, but your feelings will guide you through, whilst keeping you closely aligned with your Intention.

Your feelings help you stay true to yourself, even if it pains you

Don’t ignore them, they are only pointers to your truth. And they help you understand yourself well enough to be able to hold a good conversation with yourself. Once you are able to harness the power of your feelings to break down everything into your Language, you will be able to do so for others.

And I feel this closely aligned with what Nelson Mandela said, “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”

Self-Communication Keeps You Committed To Your Progress

Martin Luther King Jr once said, if you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving. Movement is your commitment to yourself and your life’s journey.

Speaking with yourself helps you move even when you feel you cannot

Your days can quickly get intensely overwhelming, making progress seem impossible. And if you don’t think about how you can still make progress, you probably won’t. Being able to speak yourself out of an overwhelmed state-of-mind, only realigns you with your progress, helping you see your obstacles as opportunities.

The blazing fire makes flames and brightness out of everything thrown into it.”Marcus Aurelius

When Hecato was once asked about the progress he had made, he responded by saying, I am beginning to be my own friend. Experiencing your friendship is a necessary part of life, at least I believe so.

Because no one can understand you as well as you do

You know what you need to hear and when you need to hear it. You know how to speak with yourself, using your Language, to help you tame your days and face your obstacles. You know yourself well enough to become your greatest friend. And this leaves you with someone to face joys and hardships — this is how you become your own.

“We must become so alone, so utterly alone, that we withdraw into our innermost self. It is a way of bitter suffering. But then our solitude is overcome, we are no longer alone, for we find that our innermost self is the spirit…the indivisible. And suddenly we find ourselves in the midst of the world, yet undisturbed by its multiplicity, for our innermost soul we know ourselves to be one with all being.” ― Hermann Hesse
