Jehoshaphat

Jehoshaphat was one of Judah’s good kings because he set his heart to seek God and removed the shrines dedicated to the worship of Baal in the nation. Jehoshaphat also put in place a judicial system that guaranteed equity, fairness, and justice. In his days, Judah was a prosperous nation.

Once, when the nations of Moab, Ammon, and Edom came against Judah, he called for a fast, and they sought after God. On this occasion, God told him and his people that He would fight for them and that they would not even need to lift a finger.

And so it was that as they moved toward the field of battle, singing praises to God, led by singers and not soldiers, God caused the enemies to turn on one another and destroy themselves. At the end of this incident, Jehoshaphat and his people spent three days carting away the spoils of war, including jewelry and other precious valuables.
