The idea is simple, every morning you wake up and think of a couple of things that you are incredibly thankful for. It can be as simple as your last night’s meal. Just make sure you identify different things to be thankful for every day and you will see the difference as I did.

We hear from most successful people that they practice gratitude every single day as a part of their morning routine. It is not a coincidence that gratitude can help you reach heights and the reason behind this is what this quick read is about.

Being Thankful starts your day on the right note

Recollecting things that you are thankful for, gives you the happiness you deserve every morning. It tells your brain that you are gifted. This psychologically loads your brain with an abundance of positive emotional energy and inner peace you need for the day.

If you can recall the days you were stressed out, you would have most likely started your day in a hurry not taking that extra bit of time in the morning to give your brain the time it needs to get ready for a rough day.

Now taking this time in the morning does not mean you are inefficient, it just means that our brain, like every other machine on the planet, needs some tune up time rather than going full throttle from the moment you open your eyes.

Not coincidentally performing at a high level every single day is a very tough task, more like an art in itself. This is the main difference between highly successful people and people who are yet to reach their pinnacle performance.

Getting the best out of yourself involves managing your mind and body the right way so you have both the physical and emotional energy to go through your day.

A quick thank you note in the morning can do this for you by filing up your emotional energy to the brim and help perform at a higher level as the day goes on. It gives you the edge you have been looking for in competitive situations.

Being thankful gives you the confidence you need:

Gratitude breeds confidence. Low self-confidence stems from the fact that you are not able to perform a certain task in office/life like you would want to.

This could be due to a lot of reasons but the common one is mental fatigue.

This mental burnout is from a lack of emotional energy to accomplish your goals in both work and life. It makes you feel stuck, insecure and less confident. As simple as it may sound, being thankful can help you overcome this mental fatigue.

Psychologically, it builds your self-esteem and confidence by reinforcing all the good things you have in your life. Your bad days and unhappy moments will not spoil your day anymore. You wouldn’t be stuck in the bed thinking if you should go to the office today.

Identifying the positive aspects will strengthen your belief that you have the right things in life, providing the confidence and positive frame of mind to get through your day. This also gives you time to ease up a bit before your everyday grind.

Take your time and be thankful because being happy is not a destination, it’s a way of life. You need to be at your best physical and mental state to perform at the highest level, success will then follow you.
