This is not my usual shtick. My beef has often been about people who get more worked up over cruelty to animals than the insanity of man’s inhumanity to man.

But here’s what happened…

We’ve been going through some intense times in one of my organizations. Board meetings have been stressful and here it is right before the holidays. Nerves are shot. Tempers are frayed. And it’s hard to stay grounded in Spirit and connected to God.

This is where the animals come in. My dear friend Judi turned us on to a rescue farm and website called Goats of Anarchy. They have an intro video that takes you on a tour of a typical day.

They wake up the animals and get them outside for fresh air. For some, this means getting the protective sock and prosthetic leg fastened securely. For others, this means being lifted and set in their “wheelchairs,” which look more like walkers. The strong limbs ambulate them while their bodies rest in the contraption.

There are baby goats to bottle feed. Blind ones to lead to pasture. And all around are young…
