This energetically charged group offer more than their fair share of huge sounding guitars, rich sounding rhythms and infectiously catchy hooks — stating the likes of The Gaslight Anthem, Biffy Clyro, Manic Street Preachers and Feeder as influences…

Hailing from Southampton on the South East coast of England, Interstate Drive fuses together the creative strengths of seasoned musicians Cameron Davidson (vocals and guitar), Paul Irwin (bass) and Andrew Syson (drums).

To date, the members have played with the likes of Lonely The Brave, Fatherson, Nothing but Thieves and Natives as well as at events including Takedown Festival and Winchester University’s Freshers party.

The group kicked things off with a bang recently, with the release of not one — but two fresh singles on 10th June — ‘Invented’ and ‘Mirror Mirror’ !

Demonstrating a clear skill for songwriting, the group combine strong pop/indie hooks with phat sounding alt rock instrumentation — giving a satisfying glimpse into just what they’re capable of…

Following on from this, their latest offering to the world is the exciting new single ‘Sundowns and Hurricanes’. Accompanied by a well made lyric video, the track was released on 29th June 2020 and provides an enjoyable listening experience from start to finish…

With each member giving a committed and heartfelt performance, the band capture a strong sense of raw character and emotion throughout the record — building up a wall of solidly strong and tightly executed instrumentation, fused with a tastefully written lead vocal performance!

Check it out below…

Upon reaching out the Indie Alt Rockers, we received a very important update: since the UK wide lockdown began, vocalist/guitarist Cameron let his hair start to grow, leading him to now (with his new found long and luscious locks) bare a striking resemblance to popular singer songwriter James Bay…

“Cameron has let his hair grow long! I swear people think he is James Bay. The other weekend, a chip shop owner said to him: “Are you that singer?” I don’t think so… “Yeah you are. Please, this way…..” and proceeded to march him to the front of the queue…”

Hahaha — doesn’t sound too bad, eh?

It’s been a pleasure to learn more about Interstate Drive. They really do seem like very cool, humble guys indeed…add into the mix their impressive musical skills and well, they’re onto a winner! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these talented indie alt rockers.. .
