We all find it hard to think of topics to write about at times, especially when we are writing on a new platform, in a different style or for a different audience.

Sometimes it is helpful to branch out from the areas that we are comfortable with writing about. This broadens our experience as a writer and might even lead to us finding a new niche or style in which we can specialise in the future.

Sometimes it helps to have a writing prompt to help us to choose topics to write about. Writing challenges are helpful as they take away the pressure of deciding what to write about. However, some of these challenges can be very time consuming and have lots of complicated rules to adhere to. Most of us have busy lives so this can set you up for failure before you have even started.

With this in mind, I have created a simple seven-day challenge that anyone can participate in.

Day One

Write about an area of expertise. It might be your job, a hobby or an area of life that you have a lot of experience in.
