On Saturday, November 24, 2018, broadcaster LindeeLink live streamed her wedding on LiveMe.

LindeeLink didn’t meet her now-husband Zach Nelson on LiveMe. But since they started dating in 2016, he’s made frequent appearances in her live streams. Her viewers are huge fans of their relationship and have been able to watch their relationship blossom over the last two years. As such, there was no way she could have the wedding of her dreams without them there to witness it.

In this installment of LiveMe Spotlight, Lindee talks creating a community on LiveMe, sharing her wedding day with 15,000 fans who tuned in live, and how live streaming is helping her pursue her dreams.

Life Before LiveMe

Lindee is a born performer and has loved music for as long as she can remember. At the age of 8, she started doing session work in Nashville for shows and movies like VeggieTales and a variety of Disney projects. As a teenager, she discovered social media and got really into creating cover videos, doing Minecraft parodies, and writing her own songs. In 2015, she was featured in HaydzProductionz’s single “How to Play Minecraft,” and in 2016 she released her own gaming-inspired single “Mine Song (A Minecraft Parody).”

Minecraft opened up a world of opportunity for Lindee and she was eventually invited to perform on stage at MineCon in London in 2015. The following year, she heard about LiveMe from several of her fellow YouTubers and decided to give the app a try. She’s been live streaming ever since.

Lindee Link, a LiveMe broadcaster and singer/songwriter, goes live 2–3 times a day.

When Lindee Met Zach

Our lucky couple initially met on Youtube while Lindee was searching for other musicians to collaborate with. She happened to stumble across his page and decided to reach out. The two hit it off immediately and agreed to remain in touch. After running into each other at several events a few years later, they began dating and the rest is history.

Since Lindee and Zach don’t live in the same city or state — she’s in Georgia and he’s in California — they make it a point to see each other as often as they can. Over the last few years, they’ve taken numerous flights across the country to spend time together. Lindee and Zach also live stream frequently together.

“When we stream together we usually do a lot of talking and singing. But sometimes we like to mix it up and throw in some dares or challenges to make it really fun,” says Lindsay.

It’s safe to say that those visits along with live streaming together have made it possible for Lindee and Zach to build a strong relationship.

The Proposal

After dating for a year and a half, Zach knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Lindee. Knowing that Christmas is her favorite time of the year (And it is his as well.) he crafted a plan for the perfect proposal. Unbeknownst to Lindee, Zach booked a flight to Georgia from California in order to surprise her at a special church event where she was performing. To make the proposal extra special he popped the question on Christmas Eve and as you can see, Lindee said YES!

The Wedding and Beyond

In keeping with the holiday vibes, Lindee and Zach married on November 24th. The wedding, aptly Christmas-themed, was broadcast from beginning to end with over 15,000 users tuning in to the hour-and-a-half live stream. Although Lindee did not stream the ceremony herself, she did start the feed 30 minutes before the wedding to chat with fans and get their support ahead of her big day. A close friend of hers took over afterward so that fans, friends and family alike could watch her walk down the aisle and marry the love of her life.

While live streaming your wedding for people you don’t know personally might seem strange to some people, Lindee feels otherwise. She says that her LiveMe community has become a huge part of her life. They’ve had the opportunity to witness her relationship grow since the beginning when she and Zach first started dating and are like an extended family.

A LiveMe user sends Lindee a virtual gift as well-wish for her wedding.

“We’ve all become really invested in one another’s lives and this is one of the biggest moments in mine,” commented Lindee. “I can’t imagine not letting them in on that. We’re invested in each other’s lives, and I want them to be a part of this pivotal moment.”

After the honeymoon, Lindee and Zach are moving to Nashville to pursue their music and songwriting dreams.

Why LiveMe?

Lindee and Zach are both currently pursuing music full-time and love producing, writing and creating songs that people can relate to. This year alone, Lindee released three new singles, including her latest song “I Know Better.”

For Lindee, live streaming is like another full-time job as she goes live 2 to 3 times a day for at least an hour each session. She really appreciates that, unlike a regular job, streaming on LiveMe allows her to focus on pursuing her music career and maintain the flexibility to record in the studio if and when she needs to. Best of all, unlike other platforms, LiveMe has given Lindee the ability to shine as an up-and-coming musician while interacting with her fan base in an intimate way and building lasting connections.

“Live streaming on LiveMe has given me the ability to really connect with my fan base. This is the closest you can get to an actual conversation with your fans without being face to face,” Lindee shared. “On top of that, it’s been really great to see the support from people and the encouragement to continue to do this.”

And that’s what Lindee and Zach plan to do. Once they land in Nashville they’ll continue live streaming and creating music and hope to reach even more people with the change of scenery.

As far as tips for those of you out there thinking about live streaming your weddings, she had this to say: “Just be organized, have a plan, and know when you’re doing what!”
