Yesterday’s protest, organised by the Roberts family in Prescot, against the sale of 17 parks in Knowsley, had a “brilliant” turnout, with over 100 residents marching the streets up to KMBC.

Back in January, Knowsley Council voted to go ahead with the plans after a scrutiny committee ordered the plans to be reviewed.

Yesterday’s protest was the latest in a series of efforts by local people to save parks like Brown’s Field, one of only two parks in Prescot.

The protest began at 09:30AM yesterday morning and lasted until around 12PM, as protesters made their way from Wood Lane to Knowsley’s Municipial Buildings.

As well as a petition, protesters signed letters, and Knowsley Council will have to respond to each and every one.
