My Fellow Americans Sold Me Out
Or how the outcome of the election proved how selfish Americans are
My country sold me out. Why? Because its citizens cared more about the price of eggs than they did about my fundamental rights. Or theirs.
To say I’ve been despondent over Kamala Harris’s election loss is an understatement. In some ways, I’ve taken this loss harder than Donald Trump’s first win in 2016. Back then, we weren’t sure just how bad he’d be. This time, we don’t have an excuse because his first presidential term showed how boorish and incompetent he was. To think that even more people wanted another hit of his horrid leadership this time around literally makes me sick.
Why I Voted for Kamala
I don’t have kids but I voted for Kamala because she supported expanding the child tax credit that lifted over 1 million children out of poverty while it was instituted.
I don’t own a house, but I voted for Kamala because she pledged $25,000 to help first time homebuyers purchase their first homes.
My student loans were paid off over a decade ago, but I voted for Kamala because she campaigned on continuing student loan forgiveness.
I haven’t had sex with a man in nearly a decade, don’t plan to any time soon, and I live in a solid blue state that affirms a…
