Why this upcoming inauguration hits different
This inauguration of Felon 47, formerly known as Cult 45 or whatever other derogatory term you use for Donald Trump, promises to be interesting. And not in a good way.
For instance, am I the only one who feels that holding the inauguration on the same day as the Federal observance for Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday is sacrilegious? The contrast couldn’t be starker.
Celebrating the beginning of the second term of someone who intends to revoke the fundamental rights of many people in this country while honoring the birthday of someone who fought for equity for the people in my community is an outrage. I’m sure Dr. King is rolling over in his grave. I have no intention of acknowledging the inauguration of a vile being that I refuse to consider human.
Secondly, Trump has decided to hold the inauguration indoors because the forecast in Washington D.C., when he takes the oath, will be below freezing. He claimed on his social media platform, Truth Social, that he decided to change the site of the ceremony to ensure the health and safety of officials as well as his cult followers. Which is hilarious, considering he didn’t give a damn about the well-being of any of those people four years ago when his rabid fans stormed the Capitol attempting to overthrow the government…
