An Australian in America

G’day!!…Just kidding, I don’t think I have ever uttered that saying in my life. Nor do we have Kangaroos in our backyards, drink giant cans of Fosters or cook shrimp on the barbie (sorry to burst the Aussie stereotype bubble).

Let me introduce myself, my name is Grant and I recently immigrated to the USA from Australia. Why would I move to the other side of the world you ask? Well, to put it simply, it was for love.

I have always had a fascination with this country and now that my feet are firmly entrenched on US soil I felt it was about time I started documenting my thoughts and discoveries as I explore my new home.

‘Living in America’ is my new blog series and will follow my journey as a now permanent resident in the USA. Whether it be my observations on politics or my encounters with new food, I will use this space to write about it.

That’s about all I wanted to say for my first post, I wanted to keep it light and just basically introduce myself and what I plan to do here on Medium. I look forward to discovering this country, the people and a new way of life with you all.
