Dear You!

The most important thing I want to tell you is, “You matter the most.”

To begin with, the most important thing I want to tell you is, “You matter the most. You are beautiful, and don’t be scared of the darkness- I meant the dark days. When things go out of control, when you are in depression, your value is still the same. So don’t look at people on social media; rather, take care of yourself.” For us, those who somehow manage to cope up with COVID-19 and are constantly at war themselves:

I know you may have been struggling to get through the day. Honestly, I can relate to that. Our problems may be different, but for now, I am just sorry that you have to face this crazy mental pressure of being constantly productive.

Productive, umm, just like how everyone on social media seems to be perfectly normal, happy, and acing quarantine life? Yea.

I know it’s hard to manage your work/school/college and pursue your personal passion/goals while managing not to die and constantly fearing the health of your loved ones.

It seems as if all of this is like a vast mountain, and sometimes, it feels like I barely even have the tools to climb it with.

However, I’m proud of you for trying.

I’m proud of you for trying to pick up a new habit and leave that toxic one behind, for trying to learn that new language and even for miserably failing at it, then picking it up again. That counts big time!

You & I, all of us, we’re chasing this idea of a destination where we think that;

when we reach there, we will finally be happy, feel accomplished — so to say.

The problem is that when we reach a ‘destination,’ a place where we once wanted to be, someone around you (whom you barely know) is a few steps ahead of you, and so now —

you think, oh man, I think I’ll be delighted when I reach where that girl is.

If you get to ask a mountain climber, “what would be the highlight of your career?” they will have a fascinating story of how they almost gave up but didn’t or how their life was based on a 0.2s reflex action.

Rarely would anyone ever say — “the view was really good, man”? The point being, it’s this pursuit, the journey, the processor ‘the climb’ that matters and is worth remembering.

If you’re someone in this process, taking baby steps, often failing but relentless in the pursuit — I am so proud of you!
