Doctors are working to keep people well

A television commercial I have seen lately is one put out by a local hospital. They admonish people to visit health care professionals if they are having any symptoms which may be health risks. They indicate that people are afraid of the COVID pandemic so they are avoiding medical care for other issues. They are telling people to go to the doctor and get checked out because they could be at risk for heart attacks or strokes if they neglect getting medical care if some warning signs are there.

Many people watched the Gonzaga and USC NCAA basketball game recently where a referee collapsed while officiating at the game. Although he did not know what was happening at the time, it is said that the fall he sustained may have saved his life. After he got checked out later at a hospital, it was discovered that he had a blood clot in his lung. He was admitted to the hospital and put on blood thinners. The clot was gone two days later, and he was discharged.

The referee is a person who is in top physical shape. He exercises regularly and takes care of his body. He said he tested positive for the coronavirus in August, but the doctors don’t know if the clot had anything to do with COVID.
