“Look around you. Everything changes. Everything on this earth is continuously evolving, refining, improving, adapting, and enhancing…changing. You were not put on this earth to remain stagnant.”

Steve Maraboli, author of Life, the Truth, and Being Free

When I was young, I believed in romance. I fell for the sweet sentimentality that upheaved lives and captivated hearts. I was a sucker for the passionate devotion that overrode people’s otherwise sound minds. To me, romance was like the stars — enchanting and magical. Unfortunately, my ignorance of the subject left me utterly defenseless for the emotional shitshow that was my first serious crush. The funny thing about love is that, by design, sometimes it hurts. Love bends and adapts and grows as we change, moving through life. Love is not a fixed concept — it is evolution.

I remember listening to love songs on the radio, asking my mother:

“Is there a thing called love?”
