Let There Be Light In Your Life

Drive out the darkness

Light has a good connotation in life

henever a light bulb burns out and the room becomes dark, we usually replace the bulb immediately so that we have light once again. Light makes it so that we can see. We won’t trip and run into things such as could happen in the darkness. We want to see what is ahead of us. Light allows us that privilege.

Light doesn’t always mean having sight and being able to enjoy seeing the light.

A friend of mine is legally blind. He is an amazing person who obtained a law degree. He can function very well in society. He has always had a job and been gainfully employed. He uses email and is active on social media. He is able to navigate city streets and take care of all his needs. He cooks and cleans. He gets along very well without the advantage of sight which most people take for granted.

He does have light in his life. He helps others and gives of himself freely. He is friendly and outgoing so he makes other people feel welcome and accepted. He cares about others and shows it. People feel better when they are around him. They feel the light that radiates from him.

Darkness is something that comes to us every night. It is a time for rest and sleep. Darkness coming into our lives could mean something different. It may be associated with many “D” words such as: depression, discouragement, distress, dejection, downhearted, despondent, disconsolate, and decline.

Although darkness has its place in life, we don’t want to get overwhelmed by the negative “D” words which can cause trials and problems in life. We should erase those negative parts of darkness in our lives by having a more positive attitude. That brings light to us.

With more light in our life, we can be happier and more successful. We can spend more time helping others and showing love. Light is something that makes our life brighter in more ways than one. We should try to have more light and to help others to have light in their lives as well.

Open up your heart. Let light and love shine forth.
