It’s Time For A Different Kind Of Chat

We are rolling out today the new chat and messaging feature in Instantgo. This new texting functionality is completely new and different from what you have experienced with traditional messaging apps.

With the new chats on Instantgo, you can now decide to charge for the texts you send and receive. This new feature is only available in our latest version of the Instantgo iPhone app (1.22).

Get paid for texting

As we continue to witness the shift of communications from voice to text and messaging, we wanted to add a new and chat and messaging feature in order to complement our existing and unique voice call functionality. With this latest release, you can now easily set and decide the price you wish to charge for messaging on top of the price you charge per minute for your phone calls.

You get paid for the quantity of messages you receive and reply

Everytime you start a new conversation with someone, you will have the chance to decide who should be paying for this specific conversation. Once this is set, the user who is getting compensated for its time and expertise will be able to charge everytime they reply to a text sent by the other user.

How do we calculate the charge per message

The way we calculate how much someone providing answers gets paid is by calculating the number of messages in a specific conversation. We consider each message to be 160 characters long (the traditional length of an SMS).

The rate per message is therefore the $ amount someone decides to charge per message times the number of messages received (the number of times 160 characters have been exchanged, with the first message being counted from the first character).

For example, if you rate is $2 per message and someone sends you a 400 characters conversation, you will be able to charge that person $6 as we will considered that conversation to be 3 messages long (400 characters is 1 message more than 320 characters which are 2 messages (160 x 2). You get paid by the number of messages you RECEIVE.

Charge for each message of 160 characters equivalent

The party who charges for the discussion can decide to charge that conversation at anytime (so you don’t have to charge everytime someone sends you a message). This way, you can also have a short or a very lengthy discussion with any user in the same spirit as a traditional messaging app. Nothing changes the experience of other users but the payment process and the way to charge for a conversation.

Managing different kind of users

To make it truly convenient and not have to switch constantly between messaging and chat applications when you want to charge a communication or not, Instantgo also offers a feature which allows you to easily add a user to your VIPs list, providing them the ability to chat and text with you for free. In this manner, you can chat with friends and loved ones for free while at the same time charging for all other discussions from the same interface. Also remember that you don’t need to share your phone number in order to send and receive phone calls or texts on Instantgo, ensuring a better sense of security at the same time.

Make a list of people who can contact you for free

Sharing your time and knowledge via text

The experience of charging for your text and SMS is a novel one. It allows you to better filter your discussions, make sure people text you for the questions and requests they really have and go straight to the point. On the other hand, it also allows to look and ask questions to people you might never have been able to contact before. The feeling of being able to share your knowledge and time and be compensated through text for it is unique and useful.

A new and unique way to text, chat and message others

We leave it up to you to find what is the best way to enjoy the latest features available on the Instantgo app!
