Golden Moments
This is the ongoing journal of my personal awakening. Through up to date and un-edited realness, I hope to help you walk through your own awakening with more balance, love and ease.

I sit
translating a feeling into words,
and find it challenging.
The gentle breeze,
the sun on my face.
I want to bask in the little details,
the golden moments.
I hold out my hands and wait
patiently, as if there is no time.
What beautiful creature
will alight on my palm?
Gentle as a butterfly.
An image appears around me —
fuzzy at first
then coming into sharp focus.
A garden where I’ve been sitting
every day for nearly a week.
And yet I hadn’t noticed
because I’d been distracted.
As I pause to breathe
it becomes clear —
the beauty around me was there all the time.
Apples growing,
flowers blooming,
bees buzzing.
Such tiny flowers
that I’d passed them by unnoticed
at least a dozen times.
Suddenly they appear,
now seemingly so obvious.
How had I missed this?
Why had I been so detached.
Cut off from life around me?
Holding on to the worry of the day.
Impatient for the next task to accomplish.
I sit in the breeze
and time slows to a halt.
The illusions of life break down —
shatter into a million pieces
in a slow motion freeze-frame.
This is everything, I realize —
the little moments,
the stolen glances,
the beauty of life.
I see the ever-moving
kaleidoscope of images
and know there is nothing missed.
I have the ability in any moment
to remember,
to slow down,
and breathe in.
Hold it for a moment
before letting my lungs deflate slowly.
Patiently awaiting
the next golden moment
with anticipation.
