boiling less water consume less energy

Being an international student in Milan living with 3 other students means that we naturally consume more energy than normal, since we have a busy lifestyle and are usually tight on time.

Given the challenge of 4KW per day, I decided to attempt to lower my energy consumption so that we could meet this target.

One idea that came to mind was possibly reducing the amount of water I put in the kettle. The average kettle uses around 3000w or 0.04kw for a full boil . My motive for putting less water in the kettle is that I used to fill it completely for one cup of tea, therefore if I use 25% of the water I would still have a cup of tea for myself, and would only use 0.01kw.
