Reducing electricity consumption of induction cooker

I have two induction cookers at home. I often use them to cook, but I always turn them on to the highest setting which consumes a lot of electricity. So I decide to lower or even turn off the gear in the late stage of cooking and use the residual heat to heat food. Although this will increase my cooking time, it can save a lot of energy.
