Every act of activism requires a public representation of ideologies. In most cases, it is put down, either by the government, law, or the system. A virtual experience can make the voice of an activist present, without physically existing on the spot.

Emerging technologies like AR/VR are perfect platforms to bring out virtual content accessible to anyone who has the right equipment from any part of the world. These platforms give visibility without the actual presence. Especially, AR is accessible as it can be experienced on a smartphone. It also leverages real-world content, adding an extra layer of engagement.

As technology advances towards 2030, we envision AR providing an opportunity for people to observe, participate and collaborate in activism without their physical presence.

Based on the above characteristics, we have chosen this technology as our base to promote activism on e-waste.

This group project is a guide for activism about electronic waste. It uses augmented reality and photogrammetry to express opinion. The project members include Jazsalyn, Tiffany Topor, Sonia Colunga, Yashwanth Iragattapu, and Akshansh Chaudhary.
