Now It’s Clear That Our Last Bits of Freedom Are Being Stripped Away
Back in 2019, I didn’t think much about freedom.
At the time, I lived in NYC.
My days were filled with chasing money or resting from chasing money.
I was on a never-ending hamster wheel
We are born free
Along with millions of others, suddenly I found myself sitting alone in my bedroom with no job in March of 2020.
One moment life was chugging along, the next — it came to a screeching halt. There I was left with only my thoughts. I was not able to identify with a job anymore. This was when I realized I was experiencing major restrictions.
Who had the right to shut down a city?
Who was really in control? If they could take away my ability to work, what else could they take away? Apparently, a lot as the past two years have shown. Under the guise of safety, the little freedoms we have left are slowly being eroded.
Now in NYC, you’re not able to go to certain places without a pass.
Even though I witnessed firsthand the beginnings of the destruction of NYC, I left before the current restrictions were enacted. But during the first lockdowns, there were curfews, limits on where you could go, and…
