Values vs. Feelings
We live in such a feelings based society, where our actions are governed by our temporary state, forgetting our moral values that we should hold dear to our hearts. We live for the moment, forgetting the circumstances that one may face because of it. We often seek to satisfy our current desires and longings instead of keeping our focus on things that truly matter to us in life, things that shape us and form our foundation. We should base our actions and thoughts on value and not on feelings. Jesus didn’t die on the cross because he felt like it. In fact, it was the complete opposite, he was crying in the garden of Gethsemane, wanting to avoid having to go through the pain and suffering that was to follow. It was the value that lead him to do what he did for us. He valued our lives, the relationships that could be established between us and our Heavenly Father through him. What mattered more to him were the things that he valued on permanent basis rather than feelings that were temporary and could fade at any moment. Live your life based on the values you hold rather than feelings that do not last.
