A tribute to our old studio (and an invite to our new one)

The early days of the Arlington Tower studio, too busy to hang shit up!

Ever since day one, we’ve embraced the ‘Biggest Little’ spirit of the town we’ve grown up in. For the last two years, we’ve made this little studio in the alley on Roff Way our home. But today, we’re moving.

We’ve shared many laughs, tears, beers and smiles here. We’ve spilled copious amounts of blood and coffee in this little space. We’ll miss it dearly.

Adding culture!

As we pack up boxes of artwork, books, packaging samples, and freebies from our junk cabinet (which started as a junk drawer), I have to wax nostalgic about some of the moments I’ll never forget here…

I’ll begin with the smells. Smells are severely amplified in a 250 sq. ft. studio. Especially the farts: dog farts, people farts, old farts, young ones, red ones, blue ones, and all that have wafted through this 250sq ft space. Yea, that’s over now. Thank god.

Then there were the days-old sandwiches at the bottom of bloated trash cans. And the smells of Jesus candles burning and melting away for hours on end, seemingly blessing us through this oh-so enjoyable work that we do.

Like a can of sardines…
Hard work pays off!

Here’s some of the best memories I can muster right now…

- The world’s Smallest Conference Table

- Stoop parties

- Gathering our community to build and maintain the Roff parklet

- Having my fiancee 10 feet away at all times, next door (is this good, or bad?)

- James, the local hobo

- Signing our first commercially leased space

- The artwork on the walls that quickly multiplied over the years

- The glow of the neon sign from the back wall to the alleyway at night

- Packing it out with interns and new employees

- Pete on his balance board while creating cool shit

- Random knocks on the windows

- Learning to code

- And the feeling of maxing out our space with some of the most creative souls I’ve ever encountered

And the couple break-ins we’ve had. One was intentional. The other was an unintentional result of a fight from the neighboring bar in the hallway one night. Yea, farewell to that as well.

That said, we’re loving our new digs. The view is awesome up here and we invite you all to come over at some point and enjoy it with us. We’ll pour you a beer, coffee, or whatever we have on tap.

The new digs

But even if you can’t make it in the flesh, we hope you’ll check out the live camera feed of our new space. You’ll probably just see a few people staring at screens with headphones in. But you may catch someone doing a kickflip, ninja chop, or golf swing. Either way, it’ll be nice to know you’re hanging out with us. Wherever you are in this little world.
