Organising Hacktoberfest Hack Day at The LNMIIT, Jaipur.

As a part of Hacktoberfest 2017 (By DigitalOcean & GitHub), a meetup was organised at The LNM Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur on the 13th of October 2017. It was mentored & powered by CybrosX. The sole purpose was to increase the awareness of Open Source Community.

The meetup was met with great enthusiasm as over 250 students attended the session and sent in a great feedback. This was all about encouraging meaningful contributions to the open source ecosystem, for beginners & veterans alike.

Some open source contributors along with Google Summer of Code Participants were invited to give a talk on why one should contribute to Open Source Community and how they can make this world a better place by doing so. They also described their experiences contributing in the open source software development and also talked about their Google Summer of Code Project.

A hands-on experience was also given on Git & GitHub, how to send Pull Requests, and other features of GitHub. Open Source Enthusiasts were present to help the attendees with any difficulties while sending PRs on GitHub repository.

The students got great insights into:
1. Open Source Community.
2. Why one should contribute to OSC.
3. How to contribute to OSC.
4. Features of Git & GitHub & How to send Pull requests.

The meetup was successful as the student were encouraged into contributing to Open Source Community, which was the sole purpose of the meetup.
