All isn’t going to be good between us if you’ve been to Delhi and never found the best choley bhaturay ever. There’s always that one street delicacy that gets a city started in the morning. For Delhi, that’s choley bhaturay. It has single handedly build an ecosystem of beneficiaries in the city. Now, because of the great demand, there’s amply supply too. But I’m cut the treasure hunt for you and take you straight to the treasure.

One of the best choley bhaturay joints in Delhi is Baba Nagpal Corner. There, I said it.

Baba Nagpal Corner in Delhi

Located in an unassuming corner in Lajpat Nagar’s Gupta Colony, and 200m from the famous Amar Colony furniture market, this place is a bundle of joy. For the uninitiated (I’m judging you), bhaturay is a bread made of flour, curd dough — choley is spicy white chickpeas curry.

What’s to die for is the quality of the bhaturas — pure gold standard. They are extremely fluffy, and the joy that you’ll experience while nibbling into it. It doesn’t have a morsel of stiffness. Delhi’s known for it black colored choley, and Baba Nagpal excels in it. Quarter of a spiced potato is dunked with choley and it has the right balance of masalas infused into the choley perfectly. To add to it, the pickled green chilli is like a weapon you weild in your left hand while you eat.

As if this wasn’t enough, the lassi shop next door is the soulmate that needs to be had with the choley bhaturay. You have to be there by 0900hr on weekends, else there’s a waiting time of at least 30 mins. So, when are you seeking blessings of Baba Nagpal?
