Udaipur’s by-lanes are the first thing that you fall in love with. I have always been in awe of how one can spend days exploring them. The best part about these explorations though, is finding amazing and quaint places to eat.
One such exploration led me to the popular Jheel’s Ginger Bar and Cafe (commonly known as Jheel Cafe) located at Chandpole. Finding a balcony spot on the ground floor, or a seat on the rooftop can be hard here, but it’s definitely a must-have experience. Jheel Cafe is a vegetarian food place with a different menu on the ground floor, and on the top. It serves North Indian and Italian food.
Among other things, the mushroom chilli melt sandwich is everything you need on a cold evening. It just warms you up with the right amount of gooey goodness and a tinge of fiery chillies here and there. I also fell in love with their green herb pizza (good for 2) — who does’t love fresh herbs and jalapeños on their pizza?
This is a must-visit place in Udaipur, especially when the sun’s setting. Great food, great view of the lake, and a great sunset. All this at hardly INR 200 per person. What else do you need in life, eh?
