Jaipur to me means many things — the amazing pyaz kachoris, the hustle and bustle of Johri Bazar, lip smacking laal maas — the list is endless. But my mornings in Jaipur, without fail, are dedicated to devouring Turkish Eggs at this lovely little place called the Quaint Cafe.

I get a lot of weird looks on the mention of it. Why would you not eat something Rajasthani for breakfast? Hear me out on this one. Turkish Eggs is as intriguing as it looks. It has an outer layer of fresh whisked yogurt that’s quenched with a bed of olive oil, garlic, and smoked paprika. Where are the eggs you think? Well a set of poached eggs adorn the stage set for them as you can see in the picture below.

One scoop of this and you can feel the sourness of the yogurt, zest of the garlic and warmth of paprika infused olive oil along side the creaminess of the poach.

There are two garlic breads that go along with this, and you couldn’t have asked for the best aide to Turkish eggs, ever.

So next time you head down to Jaipur, make sure you head down to Cafe Quaint at Jawahar Kala Kendra and ask for your Turkish Eggs. That’s what’s been missing in your life. Also, why won’t you go to a cafe which has a view like this? Just sayin’
